  • Japan went into isolation where only a small amount of Chinese and Dutch Ships are allow to come in; mid 17th century Japan went practically went to isolation

Compare the reactions of China and Japan to Europeans they encountered in the Early Modern Period
With the increase of European trade and European conquest of Asia, it cause the Chinese to increase their amount of fleets and armies, and Japanese created laws to limit trade, while together the two countries both slowly went into isolation.
